The NGOs Act No. 24 of 2002 provides for the establishment of an umbrella organization for Non-Governmental Organizations to be known as the National Council for Non-Governmental Organizations. The Act further elaborates the purposes of the National Council of NGOs as that of co-ordination and networking of all Non Governmental Organizations operating in Mainland Tanzania section 25 (1) (2).
